Share your proudest achievements and how were you able to realise them.
During the internship, I took every task as a challenge and made sure that I complete them during the given deadline. I was able to gather knowledge about an industry that was completely unfamiliar to me. Completing all the tasks and skills learned from them was an achievement for me.
Also, learning facts about how solar energy can be used efficiently in residential and commercial places has changed my perspective completely regarding the consumption of non-renewable resources. It was with the support and guidance of my colleagues, and encouragement given by my manager that I was able to achieve all this during my internship.
What are the top learnings, skills and values that you acquired here?
Marketing, Lead Generation, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing, Social Media Engagement, Teamwork & Collaboration, Leadership are the most important things that I have acquired.
Apart from these, this internship has helped me to gain interest in the field of digital marketing which is the reason I have started a course in Digital Marketing so that I can make the most out of it during this lockdown period and I think that this would help me in future as most of the things are going online due to the present pandemic situation. Most businesses are trying to cut down there operating costs by making everything digital.
Do you feel this experience is a stepping stone towards success in life? Illustrate how the experience gained will help you going forward in your career.
Yes, of course, this experience would be a stepping stone towards success in life. This internship experience has helped me learn very useful skills that are required in today’s technology boomed world when everything has gone digital, be it learning or executing our day to day tasks. I have learnt how the corporate sector works and how they target their customers. Every business needs to conduct market research not only when it’s in the introductory stage but this research and analysis should continue always as the market and the demands of customers keep on changing. I have learnt how we can replace solar energy with other sources of electricity and protect our resources for depletion.
What is your advice to those, who are aspiring the same or a similar internship?
I think first of all networking is a very important step in finding an internship or a job and for that purpose places like LinkedIn play a very vital role. It is a place where people can connect with industry leaders and learn from them and their experiences. In the present scenario, finding an internship is not a big deal but finding one with an ample amount of learning opportunities is.
How can we (Friends, Family, YI Fraternity) encourage young students such as yourself to involve themselves in different opportunities?
I think various social mediums should be used to make students aware of the opportunities that they are not aware of. They must understand that not just theoretical but practical knowledge is equally important and helps.
Anything else would you like to say to the YI learners who’ll be reading your experience?
Its never too late to learn.
